About Me

Much of my inspiration is gained from observing the effects the passage of time has on landscapes that are familiar to me in North Wales and rural Leicestershire.  The distinct differences in light and atmosphere, each change brings with it an idea, a splash of colour, a change in light, a shape or sense of movement created through or into a space. Seasonal differences, transitory moments, or historic references add that spark of interest or excitement. Drawing has always been important to me from an early age. The subject matter often dictates the mediums I use be it paint, pencil or ink.

After gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Coventry University, a BA (Hons) in History from Warwick University, and a Master of Arts in Art and Design History from Birmingham University, I taught in schools, colleges, and universities in the Midlands for some years.

After moving to rural Leicestershire, I took early retirement to devote my time to my work.

I have successfully exhibited work in many galleries including The Royal West of England Gallery in Bristol, Leicester Art Gallery & Museum, The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Gallery, Rhyl Arts Centre in North Wales, The Lewis Gallery in Rugby, The Atkins Gallery in Hinckley.

I also have work in private collections: Chicago and Pennsylvania USA, Holland, England, and Wales.
